Rosa F. Brissos, PhD
I am a biochemist and chemist by training — PhD, postdoctoral research, years inside laboratories understanding how systems work, how they break, and how they repair.
I am also a somatic coach, trauma-informed practitioner, breathwork facilitator, and psychedelic preparation and integration specialist. I work at the intersection of neuroscience, nervous system physiology, and the kind of wisdom that does not come from a paper.
Science tells me how the body holds pattern. The work tells me how to change it. Sovereign Body is built from both.

What you may be wondering.
How is this different from therapy?
Therapy tends to work top-down — insight, narrative, meaning. This works bottom-up. We start with the body's actual state, build regulation capacity, and move into the patterns from there. The two are complementary. Many of my clients are also in therapy. If you are, great. This will support the work you're already doing.
I have tried coaching before. How is this different?
Most coaching is cognition-focused: goals, strategies, accountability. Sovereign Body is body-focused first. If you have ever left a coaching session with a clear plan that you simply didn't execute — not because of laziness, but because something in you resisted — this is the work that addresses that resistance at the level it actually lives.
What does a session actually look like?
Each session is tailored to where you are. We might do somatic tracking, nervous system exercises, breathwork, boundary scripts, or simply map what your body is doing when you're in the situations that destabilise you. Between sessions, you receive practices specific to your system — small, sustainable, and built on what we discover together.
Do I need to be in crisis to join?
No. Many clients come because life is functional — but quietly exhausting. You do not need to be at a breaking point. You need to be ready to stop normalising a level of depletion that your body is clearly signalling is unsustainable.
What if I need something deeper?
Sovereign Body is a foundation container — 12 weeks building the physiological and embodied stability that more advanced transformation work requires.
